laptop scare

we had a minor laptop scare last night. michelle opened it up and nothing, nada, nyet. so i had her reboot the machine. then the fun started, it would make it past the bios and start to load windows and freeze, several times. i went into safe mode. did not work either. it just hung. so i fished out the recovery cd, quite a feat seeing as the laptop is a good 6+ years old. i tried to boot from the cd, no go. so finally i opted to use the “boot from last know good configuration” option. which has NEVER worked for me in the past. ( i have been a computer guru for 14+ years). but lo and behold i got it to boot. wow. i was amazed.
now the laptop is running fine. i must say i am mighty impressed with this machine. it is a fujitsu series c laptop. 15″ screen 512mb ram 1.13 ghz p4 chip. running windows xp home sp3. the thing is great, best $1300 or so i have spent on a computer.
now if anyone is looking to give me a laptop i would like a macbook pro please. my 40th birtday is coming up and that would be a nice gift.

trying something new here. like the look. we shall see.
the website design is going slow. perhaps i have not the time to solicite new business.
with a pregnant wife and 3 kids time is a comodity right now - doing freelance at work is kinda a big no-no. i really enjoy it though. so i will keep at it, just slower. also i gave myself 2 years and it has not even been 1 yet. i want to redesign my site, yeah again. gotta test out the old skills.
check back and i will let you know how it is going.
on a side note i think i may look into wordpress designs, that is another option.

if you are reading this blog you probably know that my wife is pregnant and due in october. what you did not know is that we are expecting twin boys! yep you read correctly twin boys. don’t feel too bad about not know we did not know until last friday. twas a little bit suprising.
i guess i better get this webdesign business off the ground eh?
